Ready-Mix Concrete Dispatcher

We are looking for a Ready-Mix Concrete Dispatcher to join our Topeka team. This is a fast-paced position responsible for coordinating concrete deliveries, communicating with customers and drivers, and keeping daily operations running efficiently.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch ready-mix concrete trucks based on customer needs and production schedules.
  • Enter and verify concrete orders, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery times, schedule changes, and special requirements.
  • Coordinate with drivers, plant personnel, sales, and management to keep deliveries on schedule.
  • Monitor orders, truck locations, demand, capacity, and delivery times.
  • Determine appropriate plant locations, travel times, and delivery routes.
  • Assist drivers with directions and locating job sites.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling and delivery issues quickly and professionally.
  • Handle customer questions and complaints with a focus on providing excellent service.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, drivers, and coworkers.
  • Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and customer service.
  • Work overtime and varying hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ready-mix concrete dispatch experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in ready-mix, construction, transportation, or a related industry preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and use dispatch, order-entry, and tracking software.
  • Ability to operate telephone and radio systems.
  • Must be dependable and able to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computer, telephone, radio, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
