Accounts Receivable Specialist
Serves as the Accounts Receivable for concrete, aggregate, and related billings. Performs assigned daily tasks and facilitates efficient operation of various functions by performing a variety of accounts receivable tasks as assigned.
Specific Duties:
- Collect and organize drivers, aggregate, and concrete delivery paperwork.
- Review and organize daily paperwork; transfer necessary documentation to electronic format as needed.
- Compile daily concrete reports and index related tickets in OnBase.
- Review and verify concrete tickets in OnBase for any changes.
- Audit concrete tickets to identify and correct discrepancies prior to billing.
- Finalize and process concrete billings once verification is complete.
- Prepare and process handwritten aggregate sales tickets for Ready-Mix plants and complete them for billing.
- Review Apex tickets in OnBase and against reports for accuracy.
- Review and correct the tickets in Apex and complete the billing process.
- Maintain customer quotes/orders in Apex. Compare completed tickets to quotes to ensure accuracy.
- Contact customers for tax-exempt forms as needed.
- Prepare and process checks and cash for cash sales daily deposit.
- Maintain tax-exempt cerificates in customer files and Excel spreadsheet. Contact customers for valid tax-exempt certificates as needed.
- Processing credit cards; verify account, invoice, and amount.
- Handle incoming calls, assist walk-in customers, and provide general administrative support.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities Desired:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including active listening.
- Knowledge of and previous experience working with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to operate related office equipment such as postage machine, copier/fax, folding machine, computer, etc.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and work independently.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping/accounting processes.
- Ability to focus on details and accuracy.
- Service-oriented with strong customer relations skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school education or equivalent and 2+ years previous experience in a similar role as described herein.
- Associate Degree in Business Administration, or similar preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
