ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Performs troubleshooting and skilled mechanical work on Automotive, HD Truck, Ready Mix, Mining, Construction, Supporting Equipment, and related components, including: 
    • gas and diesel engines, fuel systems 
    • electrical, air, hydraulic systems 
    • transmissions 
    • cooling systems 
    • chassis 
    • brakes 
    • general maintenance (tire repair, cleaning) 
  • Works on equipment with minimal supervision 
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area and demonstrate proper handling of company tools 
  • Interacts with Shop Foreman and other mechanics/service personnel as necessary to complete work 
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures, using safety equipment, following Company, OSHA, MSHA and DOT/FMCSA rules and regulations in repair and maintenance of equipment 
  • Stays abreast of new technology by participating in training and meetings 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other members of management 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical equipment repair experience, a graduate of vocational diesel courses, or related experience. 
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Must be able to follow instructions in verbal and/or written form 
  • Computer and electronic diagnostic experience. 
  • CDL preferred. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects.  
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. 
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather. 
  • Ability to lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
