Ready Mix Concrete Plant Dispatcher

Description:
Managing, scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating various aspects of plant operations for ready-mix concrete and aggregate material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain customer relations by acting and speaking in a professional, courteous manner at all times
- Answer customer phone calls, ask pertinent questions regarding product, delivery, and policies, processes, and enter concrete and aggregate orders
- Reviews and evaluates order tracking systems, contacts customers, and informs them of changes in delivery times
- Edit/approve driver tickets and calculate driver efficiency
- Develop a positive rapport with drivers, supervisors, and customers to communicate all pertinent dispatch activities to the appropriate individual
- Track orders while monitoring demand, utilization, and capacity while prioritizing work
- Identify potential problems or opportunities
- Resolve and diffuse complaints
- Ensure all orders are complete and accurate in detail
- Demonstrate familiarity with delivery areas and ability to assist drivers in finding job sites
- Must be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant location to service jobs
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality
- Apply feedback to improve performance
- Able and willing to work overtime
- This position is expected to perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior dispatch experience in the ready-mix concrete industry

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software, and should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Microsoft Word).
- Previous experience in the ready-mix concrete industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Moderate typing and other related computer operations
- Ability to operate phone and radio systems
- Ability to tolerate sitting for long periods
PREFERENCES
- Class A or B CDL
- Advanced training in ACI certification
